A recipe for homemade gochujang paste, a staple Korean condiment made with Korean red pepper flakes, brown rice syrup, miso paste, and other flavorful ingredients.

Soybean Flour
1/3 cup
Water
1/2 cup
Sugar
3 tbsp
Sugar

Directions

Roast the Flour

Add soybean flour in a pan and dry roast. The soybean will become aromatic. 

 

Make the Paste

Add the roasted soybean flour to a bowl and mix with water. Continue mixing till there are no lumps in the dish. 

 

Season Gochujang Paste

Add sugar, red chilli powder, salt, dark soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil to the soybean paste. Mix properly. The consistency should be thick.
