This hot chocolate mirrors the structure of a traditional Black Forest cake rather than simply borrowing its flavours. A thickened sour cherry base anchors the drink, while cocoa and dark chocolate form a deep, rounded body. Kirsch is added gently to retain aroma, and whipped cream finishes the drink with lightness instead of heaviness.
