Karnataka Style Doodhi Dosa brings together the comforting flavours of fermented dosa batter and the gentle sweetness of bottle gourd. This preparation is widely made in Karnataka homes, where vegetables are often blended directly into the batter to create nourishing breakfast dishes. The addition of doodhi keeps the dosa moist while also lending a mild flavour that pairs beautifully with chutneys. The recipe is especially appreciated during warm months when bottle gourd is widely available and known for its cooling nature. Fermented batters prepared overnight develop a gentle tanginess, which complements the mellow vegetable base. When cooked on a hot pan and finished with ghee, these dosas deliver comforting flavour with a delicate texture.
