After a day of Karwa Chauth fasting, to break it, sattvic foods are preferred and something which is easy to fix. Naturally, the inclination towards sabudana dishes is higher; how about trying the familiar dosa format made with sabudana? Before trying this recipe, check your household rules in case of any restrictions on certain kinds of rice or pulses. Like the typical dosa batter, the ingredients need to be soaked for some hours, overnight being best, and ground into a fresh batter the next day.
The batter is not made with all the ingredients in the blender at one go; the sabudana and dal are ground first, then in goes the rice, which is turned into a paste with the rest of the ingredients.
Once Karwa Chauth is observed, the batter is ladled onto a hot tawa or pan, with the former needing a bit of oil for greasing, and then spread and cooked. The pan is the right amount of hot when the batter can be spread without sticking or burning. If making thick dosas, cook on both sides; if it is the thinner ones, cook on the underside and then roll or fold the dosa and serve it hot to break your fast with it.
