Chia pudding is all the rage on Instagram right now, but its history goes back much further. In ancient times, chia seeds were used as “warrior food” to boost strength and endurance. When soaked in water, these tiny seeds expand into a gel-like consistency that feels both luxurious and light. By layering it with fruits, nuts, or honey, you can turn chia pudding into a healthy and versatile dessert, snack, or breakfast.

Ingredients

UNITSIngredients
3 tbspChia seeds
1 cupPlant-based milk (almond, coconut, oat, etc.)
1–2 tspMaple syrup or honey, (optional)
1/2 tspVanilla extract, (optional)
for toppingFresh fruits (berries, banana, mango, etc.)
for toppingNuts or granola

Directions

Description - Step 1

Step 1: Mix ingredients

In a bowl or container, mix the chia seeds, milk, maple syrup or honey, and vanilla essence. To avoid clumping, carefully mix all ingredients.

Description - Step 2

Step 2: Let it thicken

To prevent the seeds from settling to the bottom, stir the mixture again after two or three minutes. The result will be a uniformly smooth texture.

Description - Step 3

Step 3: Refrigerate

Cover and refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight. As the chia seeds absorb the liquid, they will get thicker and more creamy.

Description - Step 4

Step 4: Add Toppings

After the chia pudding has set, garnish it with some chopped nuts, crispy granola and fresh fruits like strawberry, banana or apple. For an added scoop of richness, try drizzling over some peanut butter, honey or chocolate.
