Jeera water is a simple health drink made by boiling cumin seeds in water. It takes less than 5 minutes, uses the ultimate kitchen staple (cumin seeds), and provides multiple benefits. Numerous reports suggest that jeera water aids digestion, boosts immunity, and enables weight management. Additionally, it has a mild taste, making it easy to consume. Jeera water is best consumed in the morning, on an empty stomach, or 30 minutes before a meal. There are two methods for preparing jeera water, both described in this recipe.
Lightly crush the cumin seeds. This releases more flavour and oils. However, you can also skip this step and add the seeds as is.

Soaking overnight (method 1)
Add the crushed cumin seeds to a glass of water. Cover the glass and let the cumin seeds soak overnight (or 8 hours). In the morning, strain the water and consume it as is. Alternatively, boil the seeds and water together in the morning. Let it simmer for a few minutes, then strain and drink warm.

Boiling instantly (method 2)
Add jeera and water to a saucepan, then place it over medium heat. Bring the water to a boil, then let it simmer for a few minutes. Turn off the heat, cover, and let it rest for 10 minutes. Strain the water and consume it warm.
