In a large bowl, whisk together the cold milk and the vanilla pudding mix for about 2 minutes until it begins to thicken. Let it stand for about 5-7 minutes to set further.
Add the condensed milk and vanilla extract to the pudding mix. Now blend it until it is well combined. Make sure the mixture is smooth and creamy.
Use a rubber spatula and gently fold the thawed whipped topping into the condensed milk-pudding mixture. Avoid overmixing. The final mix should be light and fluffy.
Take individual parfait glasses or serving bowls. Start with a layer of the custard mixture at the bottom of the glass. Add a layer of your optional ingredients, such as fresh fruits. If you don’t want to add different layers, then fill the glass with custard. If adding layers, repeat them (custard mixture, then additions) until you reach the top of the glass.
Cover the parfaits and refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours to allow the flavours to meld together and the dessert to chill. Serve cold.
