Vrat-Friendly Pav Bhaji Recipe offers a creative twist on the beloved Mumbai street food while respecting traditional fasting ingredients. Instead of regular potatoes and spices, this bhaji uses sweet potatoes, raw bananas, and pumpkin to build a naturally creamy base. The combination delivers a mild sweetness and earthy flavour that works beautifully with ghee and cumin tempering. During Navratri fasting, many people look for filling dishes that still feel festive. This Navratri pav bhaji recreates the comforting experience of classic pav bhaji but replaces wheat pav with rajgira or singhara flour pav. The vegetables provide natural thickness, while rock salt and roasted cumin powder enhance flavour without breaking fasting rules.

Description - Step 1

Step 1: Mash Vegetable Base

Place the boiled sweet potatoes, raw bananas, and pumpkin in a wide mixing bowl. Use a potato masher to press them together until the mixture becomes smooth and uniform. The vegetables should combine into a soft mash without large chunks so the bhaji cooks evenly later. Keep the mashed mixture ready beside the stove while preparing the tempering base.
