Rumali roti is a thin and soft flatbread, which can be folded like a handkerchief and is served in almost every Indian restaurant. These rotis have many versions and are known by different names in different countries. Like in Pakistan, it is called lamboo roti, due to the flatbread’s ability to stretch, while the Caribbean version is known as dosti roti because it is made by cooking two rotis together. Rumali roti is made with refined flour, which lacks fibre and can cause a blood sugar spike. However, using Aashirvaad Chakki Khapli Atta, rich in bran and germ content, makes this classic preparation fibre-rich and protein-rich. This rumali roti is nutty and earthy in flavour and does not compromise on nutrition.
