A popular Christmas food with Dutch origins, these rose cookies (or achu murukku) are actually a speciality of Kerala. These cookies are crisp, fluffy, and subtly sweet; they are made using a unique mould that resembles a flower. While the ingredients for the batter (rice flour, egg, sugar, and milk) are basic, the method of heating the mould, dipping it in the batter, and then frying it till golden is what really makes it special. Perfect to pair with a cup of tea or coffee.
