These malpua pancakes are soaked in warm, aromatic rose syrup, adding a fragrant twist. Desserts made with rose water are truly unique for the way they elevate flavour and aroma.

2 tbspSemolina (sooji)
1 cupMilk (warm)
½ tspFennel seeds (crushed)
¼ tspCardamom powder
2 tbspSugar
A pinchBaking soda
for shallow fryGhee
1 tbspChopped pistachios or almonds
(Optional)Edible silver leaf
½ cupSugar (For the Rose Syrup)
½ cupWater
1 tspRose water
(optional)Few drops of pink food colour
(for garnish)Dried rose petals

Description - Step 1

Step 1: Prepare the Rose Syrup

Add sugar and water to a pot and bring it to a boil. Let the sugar dissolve completely over low heat for 5 to 7 minutes, or until the mixture becomes slightly thick and syrupy. Remove the pot from the heat and stir in the rose water along with a drop of pink food colouring. Mix well and set aside.
