Description - Step 1

Poach Pears

Throw in some cinnamon sticks, star anise, whole cloves, orange peel, granulated sugar, and red wine in a pot. Simmer, stirring occasionally, until the sugar melts. Add the peeled and halved pear. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the pears are soft but still have some firmness.
