Description - Step 1

Cooking the Rice

Boil water in a thick-bottomed pot. Once the water reaches a rolling boil, add the soaked and drained rice. Cover the pot and let it simmer for about 10 to 12 minutes. The rice should be softer than regular table rice. To check, press a grain between your fingers; it should mash easily. Once done, drain the excess water and allow the rice to cool completely to room temperature.
