Shrikhand is a chilled, no-cook dessert made with hung curd that has been sweetened and flavoured with saffron and cardamom. It has deep roots in Indian culinary tradition, is refreshing, and is easy to prepare. Perfect as a weekend treat or for celebrations like Ganesh Chaturthi and Janmashtami.

Description - Step 1

Step 1: Prepare Hung Curd

  • Line a large bowl with a muslin cloth or cheesecloth.

  • Pour the curd into it, gather the edges, and tie it into a bundle.

  • Hang this over a sink or bowl for 6 hours or overnight in the refrigerator to drain the whey completely.

  • After draining, you'll get thick, creamy hung curd.
