Directions

Description - Step 1

Toast the Nuts

Preheat the oven to 180°C. Spread the chopped pecans and pistachios on a baking tray in a single layer. Toast in the oven for 4-5 minutes until fragrant and lightly browned. Remove and set aside to cool.

Description - Step 2

Melt the Chocolate

Place the chocolate chips or chopped chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each, until the chocolate is almost fully melted. Stir until any remaining lumps dissolve and the chocolate is smooth.

Description - Step 3

Add Mix-Ins

Pour the toasted nuts and dried cranberries into the melted chocolate. Stir gently until everything is evenly distributed.

Description - Step 4

Spread the Chocolate

Line a baking tray with parchment paper. Pour the chocolate mixture onto the lined tray and use a spatula to spread it into an even layer, about 6 mm thick. If using, sprinkle the sea salt evenly over the surface.

Description - Step 5

Chill and Break

Place the tray in the refrigerator and chill until the chocolate is completely set for about 30 minutes. Once firm, use your hands to break the bark into irregular pieces. Store in an airtight container in the fridge.

Plating

Arrange the bark in a neat pile or scattered casually on a simple white ceramic plate, letting the colours of the cranberries and nuts stand out. For an elegant touch, serve the bark in a glass or clear candy dish to highlight the beautiful colours. Alternatively, place them in a festive tin lined with colourful tissue paper or package it in clear cellophane bags tied with ribbons for a lovely homemade gift.
