Step 2: Prepare Rice Dough

Add a pinch of salt to water and boil. Once it starts boiling, lower the heat. Gradually add the rice flower and continuously stir. Once the dough is formed, remove, cover, and let it rest lightly. Knead while still warm to make a smooth dough.

Step 3: Shape and Fill Pithas

Grease your palms with oil. Take a small portion of the dough and flatten it into a small disc. Add a spoonful of the filling. Fold the disc in a half-moon shape, or close them like a ball. Ensure the edges are sealed.

Description - Step 4

Step 4: Cook The Pitha

Lightly grease the steamer with oil before placing the pithas inside. This ensures they don’t stick. Let the pitha cook for approximately 12-15 minutes, until they’re glossy and firm.
