Description - Step 1

Step 1: Roast the oats

  • In a pan, dry roast rolled oats on medium flame until lightly golden and aromatic.

  • Transfer it to a plate and set aside.

Description - Step 2

Step 2: Toast the dry fruits

  • In the same pan, add a teaspoon of coconut oil, and lightly toast the chopped nuts until they’re fragrant. 

  • Once done, set them aside.

Description - Step 3

Step 3: Prepare the base mixture

  • Melt jaggery with milk in a pan until it turns slightly thick and sticky.

  • Add the roasted oats, desiccated coconut, and cardamom. 

  • Stir well to form a soft dough-like texture.

Description - Step 4

Step 4: Shape the barfi

  • Combine the toasted nuts into the mixture and firmly press it into a baking tray lined with parchment paper. 

  • Use a spatula to smooth out the top.

Description - Step 5

Step 5: Bake and serve

  • Air fry at 170°C / 340°F for 12 to 15 minutes until edges set and turn slightly golden.

  • Be sure to let it cool down fully before you cut it into squares for serving.
