A recipe for apple cinnamon tart pie, featuring a flaky pastry crust filled with sweet, caramelized apples and warm spices.

All-purpose flour (FOR PIE CRUST )
1.5 cups
Powdered sugar
0.5 Tbsp
Salted butter ( Cut into cubes )
0.5 Cup
Ice cold water
5-6 Tbsp
Apples (FOR APPLE FILLING)

Cinnamon powder
1 Tsp
Nutmeg powder
0.25 Tsp
All purpose flour
2 Tbsp

Add the Filling

Remove the bottom crust from the refrigerator and fill it with the tossed apple filling. Pack the apples tightly, so that it is the same height of the pie crust. Sprinkle some cinnamon powder on top.

Slice and spice the apples

  • Peel the apples and cut them into half. 
  • Next, remove the core. 
  • Slice each half into ½ inch slices.
  • Take a mixing bowl and add the apple slices, cinnamon, sugar, and nutmeg. 
  • Toss the ingredients using a spoon. 
  • Make sure that the apple slices are evenly coated with the spices and the sugar mixture

Cook the apples & make pastry

  • Add the coated apples to a pan and heat on low flame for 10-15 minutes. This will allow the flavours to meld together. 
  • Take a bowl and mix flour, sugar, chilled butter cubes, and ice cold water. 
  • Mix properly to form a dough.
  •  Once the dough is ready, wrap it with a plastic wrap and refrigerate for 45 minutes.

Roll the Other Dough and Bake

  • Take the second half of the pie dough and roll it in the same way. 
  • Cut the roller dough into ½ inch strips and arrange the stripes on the top of the pie, to create a woven lattice design. 
  • Then, brush the top with egg wash. Bake the pie in a preheated oven at 180 degrees. Bake for 45 minutes.
  • Once cooked, cool the pie for an hour and then serve.
