Namak Para is a crispy and savoury Indian snack often enjoyed with a hot cup of chai. Traditionally deep-fried, this version is baked for a lighter, guilt-free crunch. Made with wheat flour, refined flour, and spiced with ajwain, these diamond-shaped delights are easy to store and perfect for festivals, family get-togethers, or everyday tea-time cravings.
Mix both flours with baking powder. Add ghee and rub with your fingertips until the mixture looks like breadcrumbs. Sprinkle salt and ajwain, then add cold water little by little. Knead it into a stiff dough and cover it to rest.
