Directions

Description - Step 1

Work on Dough

In a mixing bowl, combine flour, oil, and salt to taste. Slowly knead the mixture by adding water, and prepare a firm, smooth samosa dough. Cover it with a moist towel and leave it to rest.

Description - Step 2

Prepare the Filling

Pour oil into a pan and toss in some cumin seeds, ginger, and green chilli to taste. Sauté for a minute. Then add peas, mashed potatoes, salt, red chilli powder, amchur, and garam masala. Mix everything thoroughly. Once the filling cools, mix in a handful of chopped coriander leaves.

Description - Step 3

Fill the Samosas

Shape the dough into small balls. Make an oval shape with each ball, then split in half. Roll each half into a cone. Before shaping into samosas, fill with potato mixture and use water to seal the edges. Sealing will ensure the filling doesn’t spill during baking.

Description - Step 4

Bake & Serve

Preheat your oven to 200°C. Gently brush the samosas with oil or ghee and place them on a prepared baking tray. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until golden brown. Remember to turn them over halfway through. Remove from the oven and serve hot with green chutney.
