Indulge in this recipe for Sorghum Idli, a delicious and fluffy steamed cake made with sorghum.

Ingredients

Sorghum/Jowar (white millet)
3cups
Urad dal (split black lentil)
1 cup
Fenugreek seeds
1 tbsp
Oil
2 tsp
Salt
to taste
Ghee

Directions

Soak the Batter

Clean, wash, and soak the urad dal, jowar, and methi seeds in sufficient water. Soak for about 8 to 10 hours.

 

Blend the Batter

Blend the above in a mixer till you get a smooth consistency. Cover and keep aside for 8-10 hours for fermenting.

 

 

 

 

Add Salt

Add the salt to the batter and mix well.

 

 

Steam the Idli and Serve

  • Take an idli mold and grease it. Pour spoonfuls of batter and steam in an idli steamer for 10-15 minutes.
  • Serve the hot idlis with desi ghee, podi masala, and coconut chutney.
