Place the casserole dish in the preheated oven and let the sweet potatoes roast for 20 minutes. Meanwhile, roughly chop the pecans. After the initial 20 minutes of roasting, add the chopped pecans to the dish, stir well, and continue roasting for another 15-20 minutes.
