½ tspCumin seeds –
3Garlic, chopped
1 tspGinger, chopped
1 Green Chili
1 Onion
Curry leaves
1Tomato
Turmeric Powder
¾ tspChilli powder
1 tspCoriander powder
a pinchGaram Masala
Salt
half Carrot
5Beans
10-15Green Peas
½ cup Pearl millet (Kambu), soaked overnight
¼ cup moong dal, 1 hour soaked
2½ cups Water (approx. 600 to 700 ml)
Coriander leaves
1 tbspGhee

Description - Step 1

Prepare the Ingredients

Heat oil in a pan. Then, add cumin seeds, green chili, and curry leaves, and sauté well. Add in the chopped garlic and ginger, then sauté again. Next, add the vegetables like chopped onions, beans, carrots, peas, and mix.

Cook the Millets

Add the chopped tomatoes to the above mix. Then, add the spices like turmeric powder, garam masala, and coriander powder. Mix well. Add in the soaked moong dal and pearl millet. Add water and let it boil for 25-30 minutes. The khichadi is ready!
