Soak the chana dal in a bowl of water for approximately 20 minutes. In the meantime, take another bowl and mix all-purpose flour and whole wheat flour with turmeric powder and salt. Pour oil or ghee, and knead to a soft dough, using water as required.
Take a cooker and add the soaked chana dal. Pressure cook for 4 whistles. Then, heat some ghee in a pan and add the boiled chana dal. Add the jaggery and mix well. Next, add the nutmeg and cardamom powder. Stir properly and cook for 5 minutes. Use a masher and mash the chana dal. Keep the filling aside till it cools down.
Make balls of the filling, then take a small quantity of the dough and stuff it with the filling.
Roll the poli in a circular shape. Take a pan and heat it. Then, cook the poli from both sides, while applying ghee. Cook till nice and golden. Serve!
